Aussie Bred Morgan sold to USA

Cockatoo Park Morgans (Warwick, Queensland) is very proud and excited to announce that our superb pure bred Morgan gelding, Cockatoo Park UpNattum, has been sold to a wonderful home in the United States of America.

UpNattum carries the blood of Morgan legends on both sides of his breeding. His sire is Wirraway Trademark (imp) (PKR Primavera Brio x Fox Brush Custom Design [imp]). Brio was the son of the famous buckskin, Primavera Valdez, 100% Foundation Western Working stallion. Fox Brush Custom Design (imp) is by the legendary Funquest Erik out of Bowood Elusiv Dream.

Both Erik and Dream are AMHA Sport Horse Award achievers and both dual registered and classified as American Warmbloods. Dream was the first mare to win the AMHA Sport Horse Award and Erik the second stallion. There are only nine such Morgans in history who have achieved the AMHA Sport Horse Award.

UpNattum’s dam is Fernleigh Creek Scarlet (Mt Tawonga King x Myross Morgans Hine [imp]). King is an Australian born stallion carrying the imported Marvelous and Wawayanda bloodlines and has been crowned Supreme Pure Morgan Exhibit four times at the Australian National Morgan Horse Show. Hine was imported from New Zealand; she too carries the Wawayanda bloodlines and was sired by Chalk Mtn Nimble Sprite.

‘Firsts’ run in the family for UpNattum. Bowood Elusive Dream was the first mare to earn the AMHA Sport Horse Award and the first AMHA Sport Horse Award winner to be accorded an AMHA Grand Champion title. Foxbrush Custom Design (aka Rikki) was the first pure bred Morgan to complete the Quilty, the renowned 100 mile in one day endurance event, and the first Morgan mare in Australia to be accorded the AMHA Champion title. Primavera Valdez was the first Morgan stallion to be placed on the Honour Roll of the American National Reining Horse Association

Uppy’s half-brother, Cockatoo Park Playboy, also sired by Wirraway Trademark, is the first and only pure bred gaited Morgan entire in Australia and now Cockatoo Park UpNattum has claimed that amazing title of being the first Australian Morgan to be sold to the USA!

Huge congratulations to Lisi Edwards on the purchase of Cockatoo Park UpNattum. We are sure that you will enjoy your journey and future with Uppy as we have enjoyed the previous 21 months with him. He has been a pleasure to own and his whole composure is typical of the Cockatoo Park breeding lines. We are confident he will excel at whatever discipline you choose to follow with him.

From Lisi:  I had been looking for another Funquest horse since my beloved Fox Brush Summer Fun had passed away in October 2015. Having trouble finding the type of Morgan I was looking for in the US, and really wanting another horse from the Funquest Erik line, I searched the Australian sites knowing that Summer’s half-sister (Fox Brush Custom Design) and her son Wirraway Trademark were based there.

I stumbled upon Cockatoo Park UpNattum, watched his video, and instantly knew my search was over. He reminded me so much of Summer and he appeared to have that wonderful Funquest trot! I loved that Ruth has done so much groundwork with him and that he had such a sweet personality. When my husband saw the video, he thought the same thing and told me to go for it. I am looking forward to our lifelong adventure.
